E is for Elizabeth

If you have been following this blog for a while you may remember Allie and Trevor, I photographed their wedding in 2006 and they just welcomed their new arrival on December 20th, 2009. Elizabeth is such an adorable little baby, I just couldn't get enough of her cheeks! Congratulations Allie and Trevor!

I love photographing newborn babies, the best time to catch the newborn stage is in the first week so try and plan ahead. We know this is easier said than done since there really is no way to know when the little one will actually arrive, contact Portraits By Lucinda and let them know when your due date is and you can tentatively schedule it. This way you make sure you capture this adorable stage that stays for such a short amount of time.

If you would like to see the entire photoshoot go to Baby Elizabeth.

Ryan + Natalia - 10.17.2009

This wedding was so incredibly beautiful! Natalia did such a great job of adding lots of great details throughout the day. I love it when couples really make the wedding unique. You want your wedding to to reflect yourself and she did such a great job at this (see below in the pics).Natalia is one of the sweetest, fun people I have met. I absolutely loved working with her and her husband Ryan, when the day finally came it felt like I was more photographing a wedding for a good friend. Thanks Ryan and Natalia for having my photograph your special day!

Natalia had some great vendors for her wedding, so here is a shout out for all the hard work they did to make her day special.

Ceremony: St John's United Methodist
Reception: Hilton President
Florist: Teefey Flowers
Make-up Artist: CaraSue Hall
Cake: Icing on the Cake
Caterer: Hilton President
DJ: Complete Music
Photo booth: Picture Perfect Photo Booths
Photographer: Portraits By Lucinda

If you would like to see the full slideshow go to Ryan + Natalia.

Don't you just love these wreaths! I think it's such a cute idea to do the initials. Natalia is so crafty she made them herself! This is such a great cost saving idea. Wreaths are very pricey but if you get some fake flowers and do them yourself it ends up being really inexpensive and adorable.

I loved the chunky red jewelry she found for the bridesmaids. A great modern take on the traditional red and black wedding color scheme.

Natalia handmade all of these beautiful place cards. Another great way to personalize your wedding.

This little ring bearer was so adorable! He fell for the flower girl and made this note for her to ask her to dance with him!!

The Candy Bar - great way to pull in your wedding colors and create a fun place for you guests to load up on candy before the reception.

I love this ice sculpture, how often do you see that?

I highly recommend getting a photo booth, it's a great way to get a picture of all your guests and it's a take home gift they will actually take home!

Attwood Wedding

This post will be proof that I am doing major blog catch up. It's one of my December 2008 weddings!!! TJ and Jenna were so sweet and fun to work with. I absolutely adored Jenna's birdcage veil, I had so much fun photographing her. It's always exciting for a photographer when we get something a little out of the ordinary. It inspires us to try new things. Below is a peak at their wonderful December wedding at the Berg Event Space in Kansas City, MO.

We started the shoot off at Antioch Park and then headed downtown Kansas City! Below are some of my favs.

Burns Family in The Snow!

What a fun family photoshoot this was! We got so lucky, it was actually snowing during the shoot! The other perfect part of this shoot was that they brought their 2 huskies to be in the photos, these dogs were definitely in their element. I love the bright colors of the scarfs/hats against the white snow, it really makes the color pop. We shot these at a park in Overland Park, KS at a really great park. I was jealous though b/c a ton of kids were out their sledding, it looked like so much fun. If you would like to see the whole shoot go to Burns Family.

Fun Family Shoot in Downtown Kansas City!

This shoot was such a breath of fresh air! Most families want to have their kids photographed at a park, which I enjoy but it was so fun to do something different. For this shoot we went downtown Kansas City, Mo underneath a really cool bridge, then used some of the architecture at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art. It was fun to do more of an urban family shoot. My friend Erin, who is a photographer/photo stylist at Hallmark Cards, hired me to photographer her family. It was such an honor to have her hire me, since she is obviously really good at photography. Her little boy is so adorable and I have to say she photographs really well too!

Enjoy the pics, once again I wasn't able to narrow this post down to just a few photos. If you would like to see the whole shoot go to

Some Adorable Kids In Some Beautiful Fall Leaves!!

I know I am always saying I photographed some adorable kids, but I have to say it again! How cute are these 3!! I absolutely loved their cute little clothes, they were so fun to photograph. Another thing that was great - The LEAVES!! We went to beautiful Antioch Park in Overland Park, KS I can always count on this park for the fall time! Can those leaves get any better? Man I love fall, I wish it lasted longer. I have once again put way to many pictures in this post, but I just couldn't decide - sorry! Hope you enjoy though, I would love to hear your thoughts. I have also added the slideshow because there are way too many cute shots.

Stockton Family Shoot

I had so much fun photographing the Stockton kids! They were so funny, I was laughing the whole time. We went down to the Nelson Art Gallery in Kansas City, Mo. It is such a great place to shoot. I love all the architecture and the nicely manicured lawns :) Man I have the best job, photographing kids is so much fun!! Every year I donate portrait sittings to Kansas City Christian School for their silent auction. They have this to raise money for the school. I really love donating my services and meeting new families like this one! Can you believe those baby blues? Such adorable boys. I have attached a few photos below, but they were so cute that I put the slideshow in also for you to view!

Urban Wedding!

This wedding was so much fun to photograph. I had so many new surroundings and it made it so much fun to shoot! Jackie and Jim had their wedding at Berg Event Space in Kansas City, Mo. It is Ron Bergs' photo studio and he rents it out for weddings and other events. It's a really neat urban space in downtown Kansas City. I apologize in advance for posting so many pictures, I just couldn't choose. If you would like to see the full slideshow go to Jackie and Jim.

Amelia Portraits (Child Portrait Session!)

So I had so much fun on a recent photo session of a little toddler. She is such an adorable little girl, look at her almond shape eyes and super long eyelashes. She was so much fun! Her mom takes her on a walk down this path and she always brings her little bucket to pick up "flowers" along the way. Then they stop at a creek to see the "fishies". They thought it would be fun to photograph one of these little outings. Below is the slideshow, check it out and leave me some comments :) (they make my day when you do)!
