What did I do on Memorial weekend 2012? I hopped in the car for a road trip with the hubby to the Lake of The Ozarks to photograph a dear friends wedding! Emile’ and grew up as next door neighbors and spent every waking moment at the pool. I have to say there is nothing like traveling through life together and being there for each others big moments in life. I was honored that Emile’ wanted me to photograph her wedding! It was so special to be able to capture her day. The biggest trick was keeping my eyes dry! As Emile’ walked down the isle my eyes filled with joy as she was walking towards a wonderful guy who is her perfect match. In moments they would become a family of 3 with her son Kaden in tow!

Emile’ worked hard putting little details into her wedding to set it apart and make it her own. She did such an amazing job, as it was a beautiful wedding. The ceremony and reception took place at The Lodge of The Four Seasons on the rooftop overlooking the lake, a perfect backdrop for such a special day. I loved the cute hangers she found to hang the dresses on. This is often an overlooked detail and it’s such a necessary part to those photos of your beautiful dress! I loved the sign the flower girl and ring bearer walked down the isle with, especially loved the “Hi, Mom” touch on the back. Emile’ has a son and they did so many cute things to make him a big part of their wedding. He even got the first bite of cake. Emile’ and Derek pretended like they were feeding each other at the cake cutting and at the last minute they shoved their pieces in Kaden’s face! So fun.

Emile’ comes from a large family, she has a total of 4 brothers and 1 sister! It’s amazing how they are all still so close even though they have grown up. They were so fun to watch at the reception dancing the night away together. One of the best receptions I have been to in a long time.
